Group Disability Insurance

What would you do if suddenly you were unable to work because of an accident or an illness and could not earn a paycheck

Disability insurance replaces that lost income while you are recovering from such events.  The risk of becoming disabled for at least a period of time is greater than most people think:

  • A fatal injury occurs every five minutes and a disabling injury every second.[1]

  • There is a death caused by a motor vehicle crash every 1 minutes, but there is a disabling injury every 13 seconds.[2]

  • Every 26 seconds an American will suffer a coronary event or 1,200,000 new or recurring cases per year.[3]

  • Every 45 seconds someone in the U.S. has a stroke, or approximately 700,000 per year.[4]

  • More than a quarter of stroke victims are under age 65.[5]

  • In the U.S. men have a little less than a 1-in-2 lifetime risk and women a little more than a 1-in-3 risk of developing cancer.[6]

These are real issues; just as income goes down, the expenses of living go up, sometimes drastically.  The good news is that we can help design programs from top carriers that not only address the needs for replacing lost income, but also specific employer requirements with creative solutions.

For example:

Long Term Disability – addresses the needs of employees who suffer a long term or even permanent loss from a covered disease or accident.

Short Term Disability – designed to provide for immediate needs from a sudden, but short duration loss such as normal maternity, a broken bone, or any covered event.

Combination plans – not only combining short and long term coverage to provide seamless protection, but also to provide additional layers of protection for executives and others with special needs.

Carve out plans and Voluntary plans – helping employers who cannot provide all the coverage they would like, but are willing to offer options to their employees.

Regardless of your situation, we can help.
